This is a recurring weekly meeting that has been cancelled so frequently that I’d feel safe opening an office pool with a standing “not this week” wager. The cancellations have been going on for months. On a particularly amusing day, the organizer scheduled two months’ worth of meetings then, seconds later, sent cancellations for five of them.
You’d think after all that time spent not having a meeting that I might need to stop writing in my notebook and participate. But you’d be wrong. Our team needed all those cancelled meetings before now. We had questions, and problems, and legitimate things to say. But now? Now the whole project is almost over. Our team’s part of the work is done, and we’re only meeting today because these other blowholes decided to pull their heads out of their asses long enough to congratulate themselves for all the work they’re taking credit for.
